We need £1.5 Million for Scholarships and The Library

Today, St Deiniol's continues to attract scholars for "the pursuit of divine learning". It offers educators, clergy and others an opportunity to refresh body, mind and spirit in a convivial atmosphere at a modest price.

In recent years St Deiniol's scholarship programme has helped to make the Library accessible and affordable to scholars and students from all over the world.

The Gladstone Project:- The Library - Target £750,000

As we continue to fulfil Gladstone's vision for St Deiniol's, we need your help to prepare the Library for the next hundred years. The Gladstone Project will re-equip and improve access to St Deiniol's in these ways:-

• Computerisation of the Library

• Preservation and Refurbishment of this historic Grade 1 listed building.

• Extension to the Library.

The Gladstone Project:- Scholarships - Target £750,000

W.E. Gladstone's intention was that readers should stay in convivial, modestly-priced lodgings. He left St Deiniol's a generous endowment of £40,000 to provide bursaries and scholarships giving the widest possible access to the Library.

Inevitably the real value of the original endowment has declined. This means that the residential charges are now too high for most of the intended beneficiaries of Gladstone's generosity.

£750,000 will bring the existing value of the scholarship fund to over £1 million and will be used to make awards to scholars and students from all over the world.

Please help us in the cause of Free Education and Liberal Arts. You can:-

• Endow an individual scholarship for £30,000

• Contribute to the General Scholarship Fund
